Five Incredible Tips To Your Affiliate Marketing Success

23 Jun.
Posted by flowth in Affiliate Programs | No Comments

More often than not someone who is new to affiliate marketing thinks that by signing up to an affiliate program, grabbing a whole load of pretty banners and sending out some emails will guarantee their success.

Of course this just will not work, there is more than that to being a successful affiliate marketer otherwise we would all be lazing on a sun kissed beach enjoying the good life.

There are more ways of being a success at affiliate marketing than I will be mentioning here but by following these five tips you will be heading in the right direction.

Tip one is to find the right program. I know it seems obvious but I have been lured to web sites by a promise of one thing and when I have got there I am offered something completely unrelated, and what do I do? I click away from the site and go somewhere else.
So make sure that the affiliate programs you are promoting are related to your web site and the rest of your advertising and promotions.

Tip two is to over deliver by which I mean do not be like every other affiliate, stand out from the crowd and offer something special to your visitors. Give them a free gift or a trial offer to entice them to signing up for your list rather than someone other affiliate marketer. Do some research and check out other affiliates web sites and see how they are promoting the same or similar affiliate products or services and go at least one step further than them.

Tip three can take a bit of time and effort on your part but if you really want to be a successful affiliate marketer then that should be no hardship to you and you will reap the rewards of success later. Create and affiliate newsletter or blog, even better do both. There is no point in getting people to sign up for your list and then ignoring them, believe me they will forget you quicker than you think.

Keep in communication with your affiliate audience; they are your lifeline to being a successful affiliate marketer. By having a newsletter or blog you can still give them bits of information to keep them aware of who you are and how you can help them even at times when you have nothing new to sell to them.

Tip four again may seem obvious but many affiliate marketers forget or cannot be bothered to do it. Research, research and more research is the key to staying a successful affiliate marketer. Keep checking for new and better products and services to become an affiliate of, keep checking on what other affiliates are up to and keep checking for untapped niche markets that are related to what you are already promoting.

Stay ahead of your competition, do not be the last to jump onto the latest new hot thing.

Tip five is simple, keep doing tips one, two, three and four and you will become and stay a successful affiliate marketer. Us e these tips as the foundation stone to your affiliate business and you will be amazed at the rewards.

Communicate to Make the Connection with Your Down-Line

“You gotta do what you gotta do.” How many times have you heard that, concerning something or other? When certain results demand certain efforts, you have to do those certain things. You have to do them even when you don’t feel like doing them. To make a connection with your down-line you must communicate on a regular basis with them. You have to make the effort to do so even when you don’t feel like doing the work necessary.

As an affiliate marketer, your down-line is a vital part of your business. If you want lasting revenue streams, a trained and inspired down-line will help you achieve that. However, a one-time communication with them by e-mail to say, “welcome” is not enough. You need regular communication by whatever means, to make the affiliate leader-down-line member connection a strong one.

As well, this communication needs to be a dialogue. Ensure a two-way conversation with your down-line members. Encourage them to give you input. Let them know you want regular talks with them about their concerns, ideas, marketing plans, training needs and the like.

A big mistake some affiliate marketers make is talking “to” their down-line, not talking “with” them. If you want to give only speeches and hope no one asks you questions, go into politics. In affiliate marketing, strive to develop a give and take relationship with your team.

It’s up to you as an affiliate leader to get the ball rolling. Do it anyway you like. Send off an e-mail, phone, write a letter and mail it if you are so inclined. Text messaging, video chats, even communication through a regular e-newsletter, or even a hard copy one are all methods to consider.

It’s great to do some or all of these things to stay connected to your down-line. It’s great to be consistently promoting this two-way communication with them. Keeping in touch with your down-line is a way of letting them know you’re interested in their success. They will appreciate the efforts you make to involve yourself with them and their business.

You have to meet various down-line members the way they like to meet. Some may prefer a phone call every week. Others may prefer simple e-mail updates where they can choose to respond or not respond. You may have down-line members in your region who want personal meetings.

When you need to have a general training session with your team, choose the meeting platform the majority prefers. This will facilitate getting the training done quickly. If some down-line members require additional fine-tuning, meet them individually through their preferred medium. With a general meeting, you want to accommodate the majority, though.

Good old in-person, one-on-one conversation is still a great way to connect. This is not always practical due to your down-line probably being all over the country, and maybe even the world. It is possible, though, with those who live close to you. It doesn’t hurt to do this if you are able; just to add some of the human element to your affiliate business. These days we connect less and less with human beings due to sitting in front of our PC’s all day.

In the end, the important thing is to communicate to connect. Make a connection with your down-line through all the methods mentioned. Again, phone calls, newsletters, mobile messages, or anything else will work. Make these connections on a regular basis. When you stay connected to your down-line team, they work harder for you, knowing they have your backing to help them build their business.

Millions of business owners rely on affiliate programs to help elevate their sales and in turn their profits. If are the owner of an online business, particularly one that sells a certain product or service, you may be able to benefit from the use of an affiliate program. If appropriately employed, they are a great way to elevate your revenue without having to do a large amount of extra work The first step in getting started is to determine an affiliate tracking software.

What is an affiliate tracking software? If you have never heard of this stuff before, you may be wondering exactly what it is. Affiliate tracking software is the programming behind your own affiliate program. If you start your own affiliate program, you will be relying on your banners and links to help elevate your websites traffic and its sales. These banners or affiliate baners will be placed on the websites of your affiliates. With affiliate programs, each time that one of those links is used to create a sale, the website owner, webmaster, or website publisher, whoever you are partnering with, will receive an equivalent compensation for their part in the sale.

In order to compensate your affiliates, you will need to have a method to determine if, when, and who helped you create a sale for your online business. This can only be done by affiliate tracking software employed. Therefore, if you are interested in starting your own affiliate program, you must get affiliate tracking software. When it comes to affiliate tracking software, you will have a number of different selections. Two of those options include buying your own affiliate tracking software program or utilizing someone else’s.

Having to pay your own affiliates may seem like a downside to purchasing your own affiliate tracking software; but, it does not necessarily have to be. Even though you are still required to send out your own payments, you will generally find that this method is easy to do. That is because most affiliate tracking software programs are programmed to automatically compute the amount of money each of your affiliates make. Whether you select to pay your affiliates on a weekly or monthly basis, you should be able to find out, right away, how much money you have to give them as compensation. If you are paying them with a check, you can just write the check and move on to something else.

The above mentioned advantages and disadvantages are essential when determining whether or not you should buy your own affiliate tracking software or do business with an affiliate networking company. Whichever decision you do, you should be well on your way to seeing an significant increase in profits. The affiliate tracking software program you select will not have a direct impact on how much money you generate, however, it will have an impact on how easily your affiliate program flows.

Making Profits Online With Affiliate Marketing

The best starting point for online cash has just got to be an affiliate marketer. It is the quickest way to establishing an online income. A lot of people see that.

If you get online and start investigating and doing a bit of research in your spare time, for an hour or two after you do the day job, you come back in the evening, you grab a cup of coffee, you start the PC and you start investigating this thing. How does this work? How is money made online?

One of the first things you come across is this idea of affiliate marketing which is just selling other peoples products. It is therefore the best way to start making money on the Internet. It short cuts the delays and problems of product creation and customer service.

Certainly to get started it’s probably the best education you can get. By going through and finding other peoples products, you actually learn a lot of information as well as make a lot of money at the same time.

You do not have any of the hassles. You do not have to send anything out to customers. You do not have to deal with all the customer inquiries or any refunds that might come back. You do not have to physically send anything out. All you are is the middle man.

You basically find people that have a want. You show them where to go and get it and you get paid as a result. In very basic terms thats all affiliate marketing is. You’re just a middle man.

You’re taking a starving crowd that is really hungry for something and you are showing them where to get that specific food because they do not know how to find it at the moment. Thats all you are doing. Its really easy and you can be up and running very quickly.

It is a great recommendation for those starting out to make money online. It is also a strong source of large sums of income for many of the big players on the internet.

There are a lot of people who do nott have a web site right now. They do not know how to get started and it can be a frustrating process to go through, trying to learn all the ropes to get started.

All of those marketers are saying that once you have your web site and you have all your content ready and you have all your affiliate links ready, what you need to do is start doing X, Y, Z. The fact of the matter is, it can take months, sometimes years to actually piece together those three things, that step of getting a web site, getting online and finding products to promote.

That is a whole series of steps. Unless somebody actually shows you how to do that, you can spend months and months trying to learn everything piece by piece. The other option, to pay someone to do all the necessary work for yo, is usually not a viable option for someone starting out.

Although affiliate marketing is easy, it’s what could be compared to a four piece jigsaw. If you were to have a jigsaw that was four pieces you would think it is easy, only four pieces.

If you only received three pieces, even though it is still an easy jigsaw, you would not be able to complete without the necessary pieces. It is simple, but you need all the pieces of the jigsaw.

You need to know exactly what to do, in which order. It’s only when you have that knowledge that you can put all of this stuff together. Once you have that, it is very easy to actually put it all together and start making money by selling other peoples products and you do not have any of the hassle that comes from being a product creator or a product owner. It can be the best way and the easiest way to make money quickly online.

Product selection is really important. A lot of people say affiliate marketing is easy. It is easy to get set up. It is easy to start doing it and to start putting these product reviews or the product recommendations out there. If you’re not choosing the right products in the first place, then you can be wasting time and not achieving results.

In terms of how to choose products, some people can really spend too much time sometimes over analyzing what to actually promote or what type of products to recommend.

There are really two main things to do. One is to choose products that are a match to you and your specialty area, to your knowledge and your passion. If you are really interested in fly fishing and you spend your time fly fishing and know more about fly fishing that just about anybody, you do not want to go out and start selling mortgage products or home improvement products if that is just not your area of expertise or interest.

It is best to try and stick to something that you have at least got an interest in and a little bit of knowledge in because then there is a much better chance that it will come across well.

If someone was to try and sell a gardening e-book for example and to promote that as an affiliate, they could have real difficulty getting excited and enthusiastic about it if they know nothing about gardening, and do not have an interest in it.

Choose something that you have at least a little bit of interest in and hopefully a little bit of knowledge in. Choose products that you have that passion for, interest in.

The second thing is, when choosing products to promote, get out there and just see what other people are promoting. You can go off from level zero if you like and start from a blank slate and do all the research about what’s selling best.

The best thing or the quickest way to actually find good products is to see what other people are selling. If there are a lot of people promoting something, the chances are that it’s a good product and it’s going to be selling well. So go into your market place.

If gardening is your market, if that is what you have an interest in and you have some knowledge in it, get into that marketplace. Get in the shoes of the customer. Start joining gardening mailing lists. What are people promoting? What are other affiliates recommending?

You’ll start to see a common footprint, a common theme to the products that people are promoting and putting out there. That is what you can do. You can follow along with that.

It is important to look at the sales page and be satisfied that it has good sales copy and good conversion. You don’t want to expending energy sending traffic to a site that just does not achieve sales from visitors.

It can also be helpful to know the product. It is beneficial to actually be a customer of the product, to purchase and experience it, so that you know that your recommendations are sound.

In choosing your product, choose something that you have a little bit of knowledge and a little bit of interest in and that you at least see a couple of other people that you know or respect who are also
promoting this product. It saves you from making any kind of expensive mistakes and recommending things that just are not going to work or just do not deliver the value.

Then its time to start promoting!

Top Five Reasons Why Affiliate Marketers Fail

20 Jun.
Posted by canuckbob in Affiliate Programs | No Comments

Affiliate marketing is a web-based marketing practice in which a business rewards one or more affiliates for each visitor or customer brought about by the affiliate’s marketing efforts. Affiliate marketing is also the name of the industry where a number of different companies and individuals are performing this form of internet marketing.

This includes affiliate networks, affiliate management companies and in-house affiliate managers, specialized 3rd party vendors, and various types of affiliates or publishers who promote the products and services of their partners. Affiliate marketing is driven by entrepreneurs who are working at the forefront of internet marketing.

Affiliate marketing is supposed to be about long-term and mutually beneficial partnerships between product owners and affiliates. It’s a fun and exciting home business that you can run from your personal computer or laptop. Affiliate Marketing is basically a revenue sharing venture between a website owner and an online merchant and is considered one of the best ways to earn money online.

Affiliate marketing is often called; performance based marketing, because you don’t pay the advertiser or product promoter until they sell something. Affiliate marketing is a solid and very effective web marketing tool and appears to be, at the moment, an industry dominated by top performing super affiliates.

Marketing material is provided by most of the product owners or companies but promoting a particular product can be a challenge if you are new to internet marketing and don’t have the proper guidance.

Most Affiliates engage in a variety of internet marketing tactics but one of the most popular seems to be Banner Advertising. Affiliates place the ads of companies on their websites and place a tracking code for these ads into their HTML code. This allows Affiliates to track how many visitors actually clicked on the banner to visit the company’s website.

Many Affiliates fail for numerous reasons but there are several that seem to stand out. First of all many of them don’t realize how much work is involved in marketing a product or service online. They go into the program thinking if they build it they will come.

Unfortunately that only worked for “The Field of Dreams” which is where some of them seem to be residing. After you’ve built your website then the real fun begins when you try to attract targeted traffic to your products.

Another concept some Affiliates don’t seem to grasp is that you not only want first time visitors but you also want return customers and this is where list building comes into play.

You need an Opt-in Form or Squeeze Page on your site with a free offer to entice them to enter their vital information such as their email address and name. When you have your list built you can then email different offers to your members when they become available.

Some Affiliates also make the mistake, when they’re starting out, of paying for traffic. They either get caught up in the nightmare of Adwords, which is what it can be if you don’t know what you’re doing, or they throw money at sites who offer 10,000 targeted visitors a day for $20.00.

Adwords and Google is a great traffic generation tool for experienced marketers who know how to get their site ranked as cheaply as possible.

Other Affiliates make the mistake of not understanding or using the products their promoting. You have to believe in what you’re selling and know what problem the product can solve or what advantage it can offer the perspective client.

And finally, going back to the idea if you build it they will come, this only works if you fill your website with a lot of quality content. Content drives traffic which drives sales. Without quality content you are doomed to failure even before you begin.

Affiliate marketing is a legitimate and effective method of making money online, but if you don’t have the proper marketing plan in place you won’t be around for the long term.

Make Money With Affiliate Program Online

Posted by sojul_nip in Affiliate Programs | No Comments

It’s very possible to make money with affiliate programs online. If you’re not familiar with affiliate marketing, basically all you do is market other peoples products. They give you a unique url and you place this url on your webpages, and blogs for example, and when someone clicks on your link and they make a purchase you get a commission for the sale.

Back to making money with affiliate programs online…there are a few major affiliate networks where you can select from a whole range of products. The big one is clickbank, followed by paydotcom and commission junction.

There are more than these, and there are also private affiliate programs. It’s best to get a combination of both but those three are enough to get your started. You sign up with the affiliate network and you get your unique url for any product that you want to promote.

Sounds easy enough doesn’t it? Just put up a blog, squidoo, or hub-page, then write some content and put your link in there somewhere, then get traffic to it and bam, you’re making money.

Unfortunately it’s much harder than that to make money with affiliate marketing. It used to be that easy, back in the ‘glory days’ before the Google slap. Maybe you haven’t heard of the Google slap, but don’t worry too much about it. Basically Google changed their algorithm with their pay per click advertising network Adwords which meant you had to make your adcopy, keywords and landing page in allignment. But like I said don’t worry about that too much. Back to the plan….

It all starts with a keyword, someone enters a keyword in Google and they click on a relevant website, and they possibly might find what they are looking for and make a purchase. How do you make this your website?

You need to get your website seen, so this means generating traffic, and there are several means to do this - you’ve got free methods such as article marketing, search engine optimization, and forum marketing. Then you’ve got your paid methods which includes pay per click advertising, such as with Google Adwords which I mentioned briefly above.

You need to find the right keyword, you want to get keywords that people are typing in when they want to buy something, a keyword such as “buy ipod nano 4gb”. You want keywords that get a good search volume but not too much competition, it’s a tough equilibrium but it works.

You need to make your website relevant. Give the searcher what they are looking for. Answer any questions they may have about the product before they ask them. How do you know what they are? Forum research is the way.

If you can select a ‘late buying cycle’ keyword, make a site that gives the searcher what they are looking for, and get traffic to that site, you will make money. It is very complicated and there is a lot to it. The best thing is that you do have resources out there to help you.

What you do need is a complete resource with keyword tools, web site builders, web site templates, information on building landing pages, organizing campaigns, knowing which keywords to select, how to write articles, etc.

The more complete the resource, the higher likelihood you’ll have in making tons of money online. Be careful though, there are many scams out there. You’re best off with a membership site rather than an ebook since you will always get more support with a membership site not to mention constantly updated information on the topic. New strategies and so forth and coming out all the time, so this is important.

Talk the Talk to Form a Connection with Your Down-Line

20 Jun.
Posted by jslader in Affiliate Programs | No Comments

To achieve success as an internet marketer you need to have the help of others. Those others, to you, are your immediate down-line who help drive sales and extra revenue for your affiliate marketing business. You have to utilize all the communication methods available to you to form a connection with this valuable down-line of yours.

How you choose to communicate with your down-line is a matter of personal preferences, theirs, and yours. When talking to your down-line team as one big group you may choose a different method than you would for smaller team meetings. Whatever you choose, the thing is you are making an effort to connect through two-way communication.

Your down-line wants you talking to them. They want this talk on a regular basis. Some of your team members may require more communication then others. That’s fine; the thing is to make sure you confer with every individual member of your team regularly as often as each requires.

A great way to communicate with your down-line is through a simple phone call. This can be individually tailored calls or a general group conference call. Here informal conversation and sharing of ideas is the order of the day. You can talk freely and expand on topics more with a phone conversation. Typing text messages or e-mails can hinder communication sometimes as no one wants to write volumes of text. Speaking casually on the phone allows for detailed communication, and with less effort.

A video-conferencing call is one way to connect with your down-line. It’s the next best thing to being in a room with a person or persons. Here you get to see and hear your down-line and get a better sense of their feelings and concerns about a subject. If they start hurling tomatoes at the screen, you know you’ve touched a nerve and have to work out some issues with them. Video-conferencing allows you to read facial expressions and see the feelings beneath the words spoken.

A newsletter sent out once a week, or month, is suitable for connecting with your down-line. It’s better if you invite comments on the newsletter with a promise of a response to the comments. This way the newsletter is a conduit for a two-way conversation between you and a down-line member. An e-mail newsletter transmits quickly and allows for quick responses by your team.

If you can swing face-to-face meetings with your group, or even individual members, you should do it. There is something right about good old-fashioned human contact business dealings. With internet businesses, it happens less and less. When actual in-person meetings take place with your team, its usually refreshing and inspiring for all who attend. Make the most of these opportunities to connect with and train your down-line. They will appreciate the social aspect of the meetings as well as the chance to get hands-on practical training about affiliate products.

Even text chat meetings are a good way to connect with your team. Most people are readily available for text chats, and like the connection they can make with a person through it, while still choosing to maintain their privacy with no visuals. If you have introverted down-liners, who prefer this method of communication for forming a connection with you, then accommodate their wishes.

Affiliate marketing means developing your down-line for productivity through making a connection with them. When you connect with them through your communication efforts, you gain their attention. When you gain their attention, you can train, inspire, and motivate them to action. That action will help theirs, and your affiliate business grow.

How Can Affiliate Marketers Avoid Failure?

20 Jun.
Posted by Davesbiz in Affiliate Programs | No Comments

The number of people embarking on an affiliate marketing business is increasing each day. Most people lead busy lives and they are convinced that affiliate marketing is one of the easiest ways to earn money on the internet. They are convinced that they can build an affiliate business in their spare time. It is possible to succeed in your spare time and many have done it, however a much larger number have failed.

There are some common mistakes that newbies make when deciding to embark on an affiliate marketing business. The following are just some of the issues that any person should consider before starting their affiliate marketing career.

1. Spend time on research before choosing the merchant you want to represent as an affiliate. This seems like stating the obvious and people experienced in any other form of business would do this instinctively. When clever ads pop up, promising quick wealth with a particular affiliate program, the newbie can be tempted to jump at the offer before checking it out. Take your time and do your research to ensure it is not a scam, because it is your reputation at stake if you are going to promote it.

2. Make a decision on how many hours a week you can spend on working your new affiliate marketing business. Then get a timetable and block out chunks of time during the week that you are going to work on your business. Advise anyone in your household who needs to know that these are the times that you can’t be distracted. You must stick to this timetable unless there is an emergency or something really important.

3. After putting the second step above in place, you may need to make sacrifices in other areas of your life. Most people will need to continue working in their job or business for financial reasons and this will be a priority. You may have to drastically reduce your time watching T.V. or other leisure activities. This is a time to work out what is important in your life so that when you are resting it is true quality time benefitting you and your family.

4. Stick to a budget. Affiliate marketing is one of the cheapest businesses to operate. However anyone serious about making their business successful will require some expenditure. The good news is that most of the best sources of promoting online are free.

5. If the affiliate program you are joining does not have a mentoring group or forum, then join an outside forum. If you are in an appropriate forum, you can post a question and get answers from those who have succeeded in internet business. Ensure that any advice you get is unbiased and not from someone pushing their own business. You will be associating yourself with successful people and hoping that their success will be a good influence on you.

There are many other challenges that individuals may face when starting or operating an affiliate marketing business. Eliminating all of the usual mistakes that people make will not guarantee success. In addition to making the right decisions at the start, you need to work hard and smart. Focus on the promotional methods that work and don’t be side tracked by those that don’t.

When the going gets tough and it all seems too hard, just remember the times you find it hard in your job or business. Write down the reasons why you are doing this business. Focus on the benefits to you and your family. This will motivate you to persevere through the difficult times.

Creating Ringing Online Headlines

19 Jun.
Posted by kgmarkd in Affiliate Programs | No Comments

A ringing phone may startle if unexpected and is irritating when unwanted. However if you expect to receive a call, your ring tone is the most anticipated for noise. It is most gratifying when it rings and you finally get to hear from the person you were expecting.

Similarly you can create online headlines that have an anticipated ring or resonance with your visitors; headlines that they are glad to find. When a surfer types in a query into a Search Engine (SE), they scan the resulting page to find a headline that identifies with their needs. A ringing headline would be one that would somewhat engage them.

There are a number of techniques you can use to create this resonance. Here we look at three.

Question Based Headlines: Online, the headline “Are you creating effective headlines?”
would tend to out do a statement-based headline like “Creating effective headlines”. The human brain is designed to seek for solutions. Immediately it sees a problem, in this case a question, it tries to determine if it has a solution. The process of determining if you have a solution to the posed problem, results to an engagement. On the other hand statements either interest you or they don’t- little engagement if any.

Problem Based Headlines: In an environment where everyone is trying to offer a solution, it pays to standout. Solution based headlines and titles have been oversold and are now common place. Use of a headline that identifies you visitors’ problems may standout from a list of headlines trying to sell them a solution. For example the headline “My site didn’t make any money either” has a pull to it not found in “How to make money from your website”. The stating of a problem tends to identify with the visitors current state. It makes a visitor feel as if you could be having a perfect solution because you identify with them.

Curiosity Based Headlines: Curiosity is one of humans’ strongest incentives. When you see a sign “Do Not Open”, on a door, all of a sudden you are interested in what’s inside. Humans have this nagging sense to want to know. That’s why gossip and tabloids do well. Online, the use of the words “How” and “Why” in the beginning of a headline tend to create curiosity. So is the use of the word “these”. For example, the headline “Are your headlines missing these psychological triggers” creates curiosity by using the word “these”. The word implies several psychological triggers that are not mentioned. To know them you will have to click on the title.
