You Don’t Have Go Broke Playing Video Games

05 May.

If you haven’t realized lately games and game consoles do cost money, I mean games run from $30 to $500. That is why you need to keep reading.

The only thing that I have to say about buying video games is if you are broke then you need to start out old because the newer systems will cost a lot of money these days. If you want a new system these days it will cost you about $300 at least to buy a new gaming system. You can find them used but they probably will not be in as good as condition as they would have been if you bought them new.

If you like to play computer games more than game consoles then you may need to simply upgrade your computer. I know I had to when I first started playing counterstrike my computer would always freeze and I was like what is the deal here man. I found out that I needed a new graphics card along with a new power supply and heat synch. Most people these days will always need a new graphics card because now people are not playing with just one card they are playing with dual graphics using the SLI ready motherboards. This can start to cost some money especially if you want to be playing games flawlessly.

A family that cannot afford to buy a system could convince all the siblings and everyone to pitch in money so that they could get the system that they wanted. Even though a kid doesn’t want to share with a new game system they might have to until the other siblings get tired of playing.

Gaming systems are getting smaller and smaller every time they are put out on the market even though the new Playstations and Xboxes are big they are small for what they can do. They are basically computers they have a graphics card which lets them play the games they play. They have a fan which exerts the hot air I mean if you want a good gaming system you have to go with the new systems of today you cannot go out and get a old system your kids and you will not even play it and it will be a waste of money. So it is better to just go out and buy something that will last for awhile so that they will love to play it and be entertained by that instead of you having to play with them every hour or so.

Believe me the money spent is worth you not having to entertain them it will be worth you being able to relax when you come home from a hard days work. You will be more than glad that you bought it after you come home from work and its peace and quiet in your home except for the sound of bombs going off and gunfire.

A Lesson In Online Gaming For Mom and Dad Just In Time For The Holidays

Parents are wondering more then ever what are these terms my child is using? Well usually there getting these terms from the games you bought them that they play online with older and better people.

The days of playing board games are over at least until the power goes out. Kids do not want to play monopoly anymore; they want to play Gears of War and Halo 3 with all their friends online. That is what you will hear from them is, “Dad, I want an Xbox 360 for Christmas so I can play Halo3 online with other people so I don’t have to bug you to play with me.” That is sort of what you will hear at that time of the year.

If you have a computer and an internet connection you can start playing games today. Games like counterstrike and day of defeat and call of duty those are all games that you can play online with other people and have fun. You can actually talk to them and have conversations with people online where as playing by you gets boring and old fast.

The games that kids will play at school will be different then what they play at home. At school they will be playing simple flash games that they can download off the internet or just go to a site and start playing. Simple games like Bowman, simple Counterstrike and other games that will be allowed by the schools server is what they will play. Many kids nowadays know how to get around the schools server and do this everyday. I know when I was in school I got away with going around the servers easily all I did was go to Google and type in getting around proxy servers and so many websites popped up for gaming.

The last type of gaming that is taking over today’s gaming is shooter games. These games are becoming more and more popular because of the violence and role that they are able to play in the game. You can shoot someone and see blood go everywhere and they think it’s cool to play. Well I play Counterstrike and it’s not that bloody and gory all it is, is you playing against the terrorists online. I mean it is the number 1 rated online action game of today. No other game can compare to Counterstrike except those made from the same company as it. You just go online and start playing right away and before you know it you’re pretty good at it and then you become obsessed with it unlike many other people I am not obsessed with the game. People will sit there and play it for hours before they even flinch. That is obsessed and should be looked at by doctors as to why they cannot stop playing. People will play crazy hours like 50 or 60 hours a week I have even heard of people playing more than 100 hours a week.

Why The Sony PSP Is Such A Popular Gaming System

The portable Play station which otherwise is known as the PSP is the new gaming system of its time. You can watch DVDs play video games and even download music to your console. Even though these toys are expensive I think the PSP is well worth the money since you can play DVDs and listen to music as well as play video games. You can even buy a few accessories that will help you and your PSP out like a plastic screen that will cover your LCD screen for you and won’t let anything scratch or hurt it. You can also buy a carrying bag to take with you so you don’t have to leave your PSP at home. There are many things that you can buy for your PSP.

Even though the PSP wasn’t released till 2004 it was still wanted really bad by many and even though didn’t make it to the states until March it still sold a lot of systems and still was one of the top systems sold that year. Its major competitor was the DS and that didn’t sell nearly as much systems as the PSP. The reason for that being is because the PSP as something new that no other company had ever came out with. It could do things that no other system could.

The PSP has its own processor and everything along with over a gig of space on each game that you can save your game to. If you don’t have enough room to keep all you’re saved files on then you need to get a memory stick so that you can save more things on your PSP. You will be able to save music and games on your PSP after you have bought the memory stick. Even though they might come a little expensive they are still worth the money and how much space you get.

The type of battery that comes with the PSP is rechargeable. It also comes with a battery charger so that you can either charge it while you are playing or you can charge it while you are not playing. You can even buy a battery charger dock so that when you are not using or playing your PSP you can just connect your PSP to the dock with the battery still attached and just start charging. There are many things that you can buy for your PSP.

You can even play with 16 of your buddies wirelessly. Isn’t that insane all you have to do is get a few of your friends and you can just connect and play together in a game. Like whichever one of your friends would be the host of the game would make the game and then invite all of whoever wanted to play.

Even though they are sold at an expensive price they are worth every penny and nickel. Anything that can download music and still play DVDs and play games is worth it. I mean you can even make notes and do work on the thing.

A Family Friendly Video Game That Anyone Will Love

On of the favorite games for the game cube is Mario Power Tennis. It is great for all the sport lovers and game lovers in the world. It all began years ago with Pac Man, Mario Brothers and the list goes on and on. The game world has come a long way since the days of Pac Man and Ms. Pac Man. There are adventure games, sports, racing, karate or ninjas, and many more. There are games to please everyone.

Today’s games are looking more like reality than ever before. Mario Power Tennis is however just a game for fun so they are still more like the basic Marios. Some people like the reality games but they are also scary when it comes to your kids knowing how to distinguish the difference between a game and reality. Much like some television shows and movies, there are some games that children should not be able to play.

Some of the games can mess up a child’s mind. Parents should control what games their children play. Mario Power Tennis for Game Cube would be a fun and safe game for them to play. The characters are fun and very distinguishable from reality.

Some of the more reality killing games are hard to deal with because they even look real like adults. There is enough killing and crimes without playing the games and killing others. We are at war and killing is a reality so we do not need games with people killing other people in them. It isn’t near as bad if we are slaying a dragon. The games today are so realistic, they include blood and everything to make it look like it happened right on the street. It is bad enough to make even some grownups have nightmares so we can only guess as to how it is affecting our kids. Thanks to games like Mario Power Tennis, there is still hope for the world.

There are many testimonials of game players who are very pleased with the Mario Power Tennis game and claim that it is a lot of fun and very up to date in their maneuvers and plays. The power shots like the slice, topspin, drop, flat, and lob are all included, and different positions are an added plus to the game as compared to the basic game.

The game is exciting to play if you are a tennis player and even if you aren’t. The game can be great fun especially with multi players. But for the single players, they can still challenge Mario, Luigi, Peach, and the gang. Mario Power Tennis may just be the favored tennis game of all time. Some may not agree about Mario games and other not so realistic games but they are some recommended games for children and adults who do not want to see all of the blood and hear all of the foul language.

If You Are An Online Gamer, Here Are A Few Must Haves

01 May.
Posted by teahupoo in Computer Games | No Comments

Online gaming has exploded in popularity in the last few years, thanks to increasingly better technology. Characters look more real, and opponents abound because of the venue’s popularity. A player in California can duke it out with someone in Japan in these live formats. And as a result, gamers are constantly seeking out the newest accessories that will make their gaming experience even more enjoyable.

We all need to hear and see to function. And the same goes with online gaming. Good sound quality matters. So every gamer needs a solid headset or communication device. Lots of systems support high tech communication devices. Take Playstation 2: you can plug in up to two headsets through a USB port. Obviously you’ll need a gaming headset specifically designed with a USB device.

These headsets come in handy and are even necessary for some games. For example, you’re playing a game online with other individuals and you need to call out plays to your teammates, you need a good headset to both hear plays and call out plays. But if you prefer a type of game where you’re in charge of the entire game alone, then obviously you can exercise the option of not looking like an air traffic controller.

Microsoft Xbox has similar hookups to Playstation 2 except that you connect the headset to the actual controller instead of the system. This works out well because you don’t need as long of a cord as you would for Playstation 2, which hooks up to the system. Additionally, the Xbox headset has some awesome features that will make your gaming experience truly unique. For example, players have the option of literally disguising their voice (think of a kidnapper’s creepy voice synthesizer) so that their opponents don’t know what they really sound like. Additionally, parents should consider this headset since they can mute and thus monitor what their child hears online.

Gaming companies are getting smarter. Many are offering package deals where the headset will come with an online gaming service and subscription, and thus a person doesn’t have to search for just the right set for a given game.

And while the headset certainly makes online gaming fun, it’s not the most essential accessory for online gaming. Fast internet speed is. If you have a slow upload and download speed, you won’t be able to play your game as well since you’ll be receiving your information late. You won’t see the same things as your opponents at the same time that your opponents see them, and thus will both frustrate you and compromise your play. So get a high speed connection if you want to engage in online play. And make sure you have a reliable one. There’s nothing more frustrating than poising a character to make a move and then losing your connection. So consider these tools to make your online gaming experience a true pleasure.

Why Online Gaming Is Usually Much Better With A PC

01 May.
Posted by teahupoo in Computer Games | No Comments

Gamers throughout the world have been engaging in a longtime argument: which works better for online gaming, PCs or consoles? Those of you still stuck in the twentieth century might not realize that consoles indeed can be used for online gaming: they have internet capabilities. And certainly people recognize that consoles were created for gaming, and thus that might make them superior in the online gaming realm. However, we have to recognize that the PC has far more memory and thus stability in the online gaming realm. Besides these two options, though, we have much more to consider when looking at these two options.

The biggest downfall of online gaming through a console is simply the lesser memory it has. The majority of gaming consoles utilize memory cards to save information, and these are incrementally smaller than the memory available on a PC. For example, a Playstation card holds approximately 8 MB of ram. Whereas a PC will typically hold hundreds of MB of ram.

You have barely enough room on a memory card to save what you need much less what you want. A person using a console will constantly find himself in need of more memory cards and thus he’ll be regularly forking over more dough to just save the elements of a game or he has to make the critical decision of erasing something that he wouldn’t have to even consider if he was using a PC.

Consoles also come with limited processing speed, which increases the upload and download speed of a game. A person cannot change his processing speed on his console once he’s purchased it. However an owner can upgrade his PC speed with a new processor chipset. His computer speed will jump astronomically. Additionally, these types of upgrades cost very little, and the PC owner himself can install them, thereby sidestepping the fees of a techie.

Sound matters to a gamer. And that’s why a PC might also surpass the console for the professional player. While many consoles come with digital sound, their sound processing chips have many problems, primarily the lack of adjustment and mixing options. With a PC, the owner can purchase and install a new sound card for optimal sound quality. He’ll have to find a store selling computer accessories, but after that, it’s high flying with easy installation. Great sound can make a mediocre game great.

Games of the twenty first century have set themselves apart with incredible graphics. But a person needs an incredible screen to see these incredible graphics. Those who use their console regularly to play online games risk stealing the television from a loved one in the house and thereby creating familial disharmony. However, we have to recognize that playing a game on a big screen TV certainly can make the game exciting. But in the end, you have to ask yourself what matters most: a big screen or a happy family.

Turn Your Computer Into An Entertainment System With Downloaded Card Games

01 May.
Posted by teahupoo in Computer Games | No Comments

Almost every computer these days comes with some free games preloaded on them. These games can provide plenty of entertainment and ways to kill some time or even slack at work. Often these games are card games, and we’ve all seen the ubiquitous solitaire computer card game. Who hasn’t wiled away an hour clicking through game after game of solitaire? Despite the addictive nature of the game, it can get old after a while, and you might want to start looking around for new games to play.

There are innumerable card games available on the internet. Most of the games are ones you’re probably already familiar with. This would include favorites such as blackjack, poker (which has become hugely popular), hearts, spades, gin, cribbage, bridge, etc. There are also more than a few different versions of solitaire available. You can also find countless original card games on the internet. These are games which this or that person invented and shared with the world. They may use conventional card sets or they may rely on totally new sets you’ve never seen before. The limit, of course, is the human imagination.

You can download games for free or you can buy them. The difference between free games and ones that cost money are getting relatively small. You can find all sorts of great games for free. Usually the ones that cost money have better graphics and more features, but basically there aren’t a lot of differences. Pretty much any card game you want to play can be downloaded for free.

You may wonder why you’d want to download a game instead of just playing it online. Downloading games allows you to play them whether you’re connected to the internet or not. If you connect to the internet via dial up, then downloading games is a good idea because they’re usually fairly small files, and since you’re playing on your own computer the gameplay will be faster due to not having to worry about your connection speed. And if you’re on a limited data plan, playing online can burn valuable bandwidth. Again, you’re better off relying on your computer’s processor speed than the speed of your internet connection.

Having said that, if you have broadband access and/or aren’t concerned about being able to play anywhere you want, you can find all sorts of free online games. The advantage to playing online is that you can play against other people who can be anywhere in the world.

Next time you’re clicking through another boring game of solitaire, switch to your web browser and start searching for new card games. You’ll be amazed by the sheer number of games out there. Whether you’re looking for Texas Hold ‘em, blackjack, hearts, or an interesting new version of solitaire, you’ll be sure to find something fun to download from the internet.

Will Halo 3 Live Up To The Hype?

30 Apr.
Posted by teahupoo in Computer Games | No Comments

I have been a fan of Halo since the introduction of the original game for X-Box. As a shooter game fan going all the way back to Quake in the mid 1990’s I enjoy the first person viewing and found the creativity in creating the different aliens amusing, particularly the little squealers I like to call them.

In the trailer for Halo3 we see it open with a view of what remains of New Mombasa and through the haze and destruction we can see Master Chief but the image is covered by shots of Cortana, I think. She is speaking barely understandable lines like “this is how your world ends”.

It looks like Master Chief has the MA5B Assault Rifle from Halo 1, his armor looks a bit different, Bungie company officials aren’t confirming or denying much of anything. We have seen shots that show the assault rifle, a new alien weapon and a new alien, the M90 shotgun, and the Covenant beam rifle, which I loved. That was my favorite in Halo 2 for sniping aliens long range.

As I mentioned above it appears that Halo 3 takes place back on Earth which has been completed overrun and is now being controlled by the Covenant. In the teaser we see Covenant ships above a large excavation that Master Chief is looking into.

Some of the insider information that has been released is saying that the detail in the graphics will be incredible, such as being able to see the difference in Master Chief’s Armor and his rubber undersuit and that you will be able to see the reflection of whatever is in front of him in his visor if you zoom in close.

One rumor that has been quelled is that of release dates for Halo 3 and the much anticipated Halo movie which is being directed by Peter Jackson of Lord of the Rings fame. It is also being hinted that contrary to what has been published to date, this may not be the end of the Halo games.

The game engine has reportedly seen a major upgrade and graphics are much better. They have also made it easier to create custom games for multiplayer modes. I guess it all remains to be seen, but I can’t wait for both, the release of the game and the movie. The game will be the must have game of the year as far as I am concerned and if Jackson pulls off the same kind of recreation of Halo that he did for Tolkien’s Lord of the Rings we are all in for a treat.

Eye-popping Properties of HDTV

28 Apr.
Posted by teahupoo in Computer Games | No Comments

HDTV or high definition television is the cutting-edge technology in home theater systems. Movie enthusiasts praise the high definition televisions for its clearer picture, better sound, progressive scanning and a wider viewing screen. As the trend towards replacing traditional analog televisions with the HDTV, consumers are starting to notice the eye-popping properties of HDTV.

High definition television is a revolutionary new technology that brings the viewer the clearest, brightest picture possible. The picture on the television can be considered life-like and real. The colors displayed using the digital technology and wide screen pictures, are bright and crisp. Surround sound further enhances the viewer’s experience.

The standard high definition television works by using a digital broadcast signal that is able to deliver a wide-screen, high-resolution picture with six channels of digital sound. The difference between HDTV and conventional television broadcast is that the high definition screen is much wider. This allows the broadcast or DVD movies to be viewed as they would in a movie theater. No parts of the screen either at the top or bottom are obstructed or cut off.

HDTV provides a wider screen than conventional TV sets. The wide-screen format allows a more intense viewing experience and is able to take full advantage of the field of vision. With the prices of HDTV going down, smaller sets are hitting the market making consumers more likely to purchase HDTV.

Another great benefit of using high definition television is that HDTV has over twice the sharpness and clarity of analog TV broadcasts. The color resolution for HDTV sets is far superior. For consumers who have already made the switch to HDTV, they feel this is the biggest advantage of high definition.

The lack of imperfections in the television screen often seen on traditional television is another reason why many prefer high definition to analog. With HDTV, problems such as snow caused from a weak signal, double images from ghosting or multi-path and picture sparkles from impulse noise are a thing of the past. These problems often seen on a conventional television broadcast just do not occur on HDTV.

Screen resolution from a high definition TV broadcast is almost five times as sharp as conventional broadcasts. High definition has double the lines of resolution compared to a traditional analog TV set. While a traditional analog set can only display 525 lines of resolution, HDTV technology takes this one step farther. HDTV broadcasts can display 1080 horizontal lines of resolution. This makes a huge difference in the picture clarity and quality. Often with big screen analog broadcasts, the picture is severely degraded because of the resolution lines.

When looking into purchasing a high definition television and broadcast provider, it is important to research the products. HDTV comes in several sizes and varieties. Consumers can purchase plasma, LCD (liquid crystal display), DLP (digital light processing) or LCOS (liquid crystal on silicon), which are all types of monitors. There are also projection displays to consider. They also come in LCD, DLP, and LCOS. Many viewers prefer the wall display monitor that either plasma or LCD offers. But, these are usually the most expensive of the high definition sets, especially the ones that are sized between 40 to 70 inches. Lower on the cost spectrum, but equally good, are the LCD displays that are sized at 42 inches and under.

Also, consider the provider. High definition broadcasting and digital should not be confused. They are not the same thing. There are many cable and satellite companies that simply convert standard analog broadcasts to digital to improve reception and to provide additional services. These are not true high definition broadcasts. Also, the picture quality and resolution will not be the same as that of HDTV. The picture format will not be wide-screen. Most consumers that subscribe to cable today are getting a digital broadcast.

To keep up with the popularity of high definition, most broadcast channels now broadcast in both analog and high definition at the same time. There are currently about forty networks in the United States that now broadcast in both. These include HBO, Showtime, ESPN and the Discovery Channel. The number of networks utilizing high definition broadcast is expected to grow as the price of HDTV goes down. More consumers are asking for high definition channels for their television viewing.

EVE Online Hacks - What Not To Do

26 Apr.
Posted by overt595 in Computer Games | No Comments

Hacks, on EVE Online, are clear violations of the terms of service for using the game and maintaining an account. If you’re considering doing an EVE Online hack, understand that everything you’re doing can, and ultimately will, result in your account being shut down. You won’t get a refund of funds played, the account will get shut down, no questions asked or answered. That little “I agree” button you clicked when you set up the account came at the end of a license agreement that spells out the penalties in full measure.

That being said, if you think you can get away with it (you can’t), there are a few EVE Online hacks that work for short periods of time, and can be used to close the gap on other players.

The first hack is using database analysis tools whenever a new patch comes out to go sniffing for universe database exploits. You need a hex editor and some decent technical knowhow to make this work, but you’re basically trying to use the database files downloaded to your computer to “sniff” for new sectors or changes to existing sectors, to find the resources before everyone else does. This requires that you be one of the very first people out there to download a patch, and requires enough additional work that the benefit is probably pretty minimal. Related to this is trying to find malformed tables in the download for exploits - sometimes, these can be treated as invisible gates to new regions. Beware - sometimes those gates are one-way gates and you may get stuck in a place with no way home.

The second hack is trying to compromise another player’s account, to steal in game resources. This is definitely risky in terms of account deletion. It’s also risky in terms of actual, honest to god fraud. Doing this EVE Online hack can actually put you behind bars, because it’s considered electronic funds fraud, even by proxy or remove. So before you try doing EVE Online hacks, think very carefully about the consequences of getting caught.

All in all, trying to do EVE Online hacks is a great way to get your account nuked and lose all the fun of playing this great game with 500,000 of your fiercest competitors on a 5,000 star galaxy. You won’t enjoy the rewards if you cheated to get them, so do it honest. EVE Online hacks are cheating, and cheaters never prosper.

Tom Kranz has written articles on EVE Online ships and the EVE Online free trial which is available, as well as a number of EVE Online guides. His articles, along with more information on the EVE Online game, can be found at http://www.eve-online-info.com
