It’s nice to be employed, and get paid with a steady pay check. But once you have your little ones, what could be more important to be with them? Don’t you miss that little face coming out of your body? Sometimes you have to work outside the home or you can get a job, that’s great if you are comfortable with it. But if you have a desire to stay home, DO it if you have a husband earning some income, a good credit or a good amount of savings. I would say you need to at least take a break and be with you little ones for awhile.

Most of us moms of course have a desire to earn some money, whether to supplement the husband’s income or something else. After all, who does not need money? Most women start to look around for work they can do at home for an income. There are a lot of choices out there, some paid hourly, and some are business opportunities. Unless you have a technical specialty such as programming or engineering, most hourly paid goes from $7 to $15 per hour. There hourly work from home jobs include administrative, customer service, surveys, and data entry assort. You can fit your work schedule to your home schedule, among all you shopping, cooking, cleaning, feeding, or school picking up schedules.

Being a mom is pretty busy, little ones require a lot of attention, feeding, changing, or taking toddler back and fore to school, if you have a couple hours a day alone, I would say you manage well. The two hours you have is very precious, I would say you should get the most of it, in business terms, try to invest your effort and the little time you have for a maximum, long term result. In another word, you should try to invest in a high growth income, business opportunities.

The best ones nowadays are internet opportunities; you can start an internet business with very little start up money. And ubiquitous of the internet makes marketing very easy and effective. Sometimes you don’t see the result right away, but remember a business takes investment, effort and time. Make a plan, keep a goal, and watch your progress. Of course there are will be obstacles along the way, just keep up with a positive attitude and don’t give up. Listen to successful people and most importantly, yourself.

Mothers of Young Children-Stay at Home or Return to Work? Work From Home?

01 Jun.

Wondering whether you should stay at home or return to work? If you can afford to stay home for awhile, that would be the best for your children and you. You children would never be that young again, soon they would be grown and gone. What is there for life, if you can’t enjoy them now?

There are financial concerns families might have, just look real hard at your spendings, and cut down all the necessaries. It’s worth the while for a family to not spend money on nice clothes or electronics, to allow the mother to spend time with the children. Even if you have to leverage on other resources, home equity, spendings, or credit card, etc. for the moment, it’s worth it. Unless you don’t care about you children, although that is rare in mothers, your time is now to be with them.

After sometime, you might feel the pressure to earn money, there are options to work part time, work from home, or even going back to work is not so bad, after you had some time off with your young children. The most important time for a human, is the first five years. The more time you can spend with you child, the happier you two would turn out to be.

With the internet and businesses out there, you can try to work from home, starting a business from home that would give you the best of the both world: earning an income and being with your children. Work from home takes discipline, hard work, resources, money and time. Do not give up in less than a year of trial, you need to weather through a least a couple cycles of up and downs. Try to solicit supports from your family; there are also communities (many online) that you can find supports. The main thing is you have to believe in yourself, even no one would sometimes.

Working part time, or going back to work after staying home for awhile, is not so bad, if you can find a quality day-care. Go observe the day care, see if the babies and children are healthy and happy. If they are, then there is no need to worry about dropping off your treasures there. Or worst case, things doesn’t work out, then quit your job, and stay home again. Remember, life is full of turns; things will always turn out to be okay. Use your supports, real life or virtual.

Balance Or Burnout: It Is Your Choice!

25 Apr.
Posted by CoachNina in Women in Business | No Comments

If you are one of those rare women who take enough time each day to focus on nurturing yourself, I throw handfuls of flower petals in the air to you. Life is celebrating you honoring yourself!

The rest of us have to learn The Hard Way. We tend to forget the mathematical formula that’s as old as gravity: what we take out we must put in. Otherwise, we’ll get overdrawn with a bank notice from our Higher Self which says, “Deposit now. You are operating in the red.” If we don’t heed the red alert, our account can be closed—as in a crisis like getting ill and staying ill for as long as it takes to GET IT.

Sometimes I think about the people in the bible, Adam, Methuselah, and others who lived to be over 900 years old. Thinking about those guys can take away some of the fear of aging. I wonder if the women lived that long in those days or if they were working too hard.

Don’t you think it would be possible to live for hundreds of years if we lived a natural life with little or no stress? Just think if we balanced our work and energy output with recreation and self-care. I believe we could live for centuries! Maybe I can plan ahead for my next life.

Recreation is a neat word. It implies we can recreate ourselves, our lives and our projects when we are having relaxed fun. When we engage in recreational activities, healing happens, inspiration comes, new neural pathways grow, and new ideas percolate.

How many of us really get the deep rest we need? To function optimally, we need at least seven, preferably eight hours nightly of peaceful, unmedicated sleep and time each week to do something as wonderful as reading in a meadow under a shady tree, lying under the stars at night, or having a whole day with no appointed times to be anywhere. How delicious!

I have a tendency to overwork and even though I have learned that lesson The Really Hard Way, I still have to keep an eye on myself. I slipped into overworking the last two weeks and sure enough I developed an infected tooth after a root canal. I wonder if I had been more rested and balanced if I could have sidestepped that infection.

Women have been trained since Day One to nurture everyone around us, keep everything together, work like mules, and put ourselves last on the list. Since the To Do List never ends, and we keep adding to it, we never get to that last item . . . ME!

I invite you over-doers, pleasers, and super women to take stock today of your place on the continuum of stress to zest. You can prevent exhaustion, illness, and burnout by making a list today of the ways to rest and rejuvenate that are just right for you. Commit to doing one small thing just for you each day that gives you energy and joy.

Empowering Women Everywhere: Past, Present, and Future

Not so long ago, the subject of Women’s History was one that many individuals did not acknowledge. After all, women were once viewed as being “second-class” citizens; celebrating their history and recognizing their accomplishments seemed at best, far-fetched. It was a topic rarely studied with interest and earnest. Over the years, however, the field of Women’s Studies has undergone a dramatic transformation. It has gone from an unpopular discourse to a ubiquitous facet of our history as Americans. In fact, in recent decades, it has become wildly popular - sparking both activism and political efforts.

Society, politics, and the Women’s Movement of the 1960s have no doubt had an impact on the increasing interest in women’s issues and history. Today, Americans recognize the importance of this history and the impact that it can have on present and future generations - regardless of gender. After all, where would we be as a society without the courage and efforts of women’s and equal rights activists?

Women’s History is without question an inspirational subject. The hard work that has gone into securing a strong future - a future full of opportunity for women from all walks of life is a noble effort. And, in any case, adaptation is progress. And information is influence. Understanding our past and how far we’ve come is inspiring. This understanding and inspiration lends strength to the many who aim to uphold the ideals of equality and ensure opportunities for women across the U.S. as well as across the globe.

Susan B. Anthony, Eleanor Roosevelt, Florence Kelley, Jehan Sadat, Nellie McClung, Elizabeth Cady Stanton, Fadela Amara, Lucy Stone, Bella Abzug, Dr. Carolyn Mazure, Emily Murphy, Farkhonda Hassan, Gabrielle “Coco” Chanel, Inez Milholland Boissevain, Queen Rania of Jordan, and RA Kartini are just a few of the many names of women who are giving or have given their all in the name of women’s rights.

But perhaps the most amazing thing about Women’s History isn’t only its long and courageous journey thus far, but also its ability to remind us that we’re not there yet. There are still battles to be won (and perhaps some battles may always exist). There is a gender/wage gap. There are unfair stereotypes. There are situations that one encounters as a woman that don’t give her the same opportunities that men are often granted. Women’s Rights is a work in progress; and no doubt the first step to ensuring progress is to understand the history - the struggles, and the success.

What is your career ambition? Would it be ideal if you were in a job that offers you a sense of security and puts you through a lot of challenges? Would this make you happy? However, directly connected to the education that a person receives, the surroundings that a person has been brought up in, the kind of people he or she mixes with, career ambitions are multifaceted and multidimensional.

Do you find yourself under pressure and having to put up with less-than-ideal job options, terrible employment alternatives, and squashed career ambitions? Women frequently tend to perfect their abilities in bigger companies, but leave as soon as their career ambitions are not completed.

Women’s position in the workforce is unique because many of them also aspire to have families and raise children. And working as a part-timer or having flexible working hours can signify that career ambitions are limited.

It is astonishing that nearly 30 years after the Sex Discrimination Act came into power, many women are still inadequately represented in the most influential places.

Some Things You Can Do

What you really need to do is keep yourself motivated. You also need to make sure that your skills are up-to-date and match what employers are looking for. After all this has been done, you may find that you need to go back to school or take a class or seminar in your chosen career field.

If you’ve followed all the steps above, and find that, despite numerous interviews, you are unable to land a job offer, it may be due to any of the following reasons:

-You are not adequately illustrating your career path
-You lack the required credentials or experience
-You are suffering from an obvious lack of individual readiness
-You are not dressing the part
-You have not thoroughly researched the company or industry
-You are not communicating clearly
-You are not asking enough pertinent, thoughtful questions

It is up to you to make sure that the interviewer receives all the details they need to make up their mind to give you the position that you have applied for. In the last part of the interview you have the chance to ask questions that cover facts about the company and the position, and that shed light on points made during the interview.

Finding Opportunities

Surf online on a daily basis and see what opportunities you can find. You should sign up for as many “jobs by email” lists as you can. Make an effort to pursue any job that is even just a little bit associated to what you want to do.

When you’re looking for a job, and have certain ambitions that you want to fulfill, you need to be aggressive. Follow the tips above and you will be well on your way to career success!

From Coco Chanel To Hermes Accessories Lead Couture

When you think of Couture there are some names that need no explanation and epitomize the height of fashion. Coco Chanel is one of these names. When you think of the Chanel brand today , you think of the suit, the perfume, Paris, Grace Kelly, Jacky O. The name conjures images of the beautiful women who have adorned the front covers of the world’s magazines wearing designs and accessories from the famous Coco Chanel over nearly a century.

For it was in a modest milliners shop in Paris in 1910 that the designer, christened Gabrielle Bonheur Chanel began her career. Her first dress shop followed shortly afterwards in 1914. Her trademark suit launched in 1923 of short knee length skirt and box jacket was one of many trends set by Chanel in the 20’s. She was accredited with ‘the little black dress’ whose necessity in the closet of every women goes without saying. Hairstyles and handbag styles were also set by designer in pre-war Paris.

In 1939 she closed her shop and it re-opened after the war in 1954. It was not long before she was once again influencing the world of fashion. In 1955 she launched the quilted shoulder bag that took the world by storm. It still remains one of the ‘classic’ handbags to own. Through the late fifties and sixties Hollywood endorsed her and stars such as Grace Kelly and First Lady Jacky Kennedy would often be seen wearing Chanel.

By her death in 1971 the house of Chanel was firmly established as the hallmark of Parisian couture and the diminutive ‘Coco’ would be revered for all time as one of the greatest influences in culture and fashion of the twentieth century.

One of the major influences that Coco Chanel made to the fashion world was the introduction of highlighting the importance of accessories. Handbags, Perfumes and jewelery all became part of the overall couture experience. This rise led to other fashion houses of long standing such as Hermes rising to new heights.

Hermes was a family owned business for nearly two hundreds years founded by Thierry Hermes in 1836. Originally a saddlery company Hermes fame grew in the first half of the twentieth century on the back of accessories such as its silk scarves and handbags such as the Constance bag and the Kelly.

The Kelly Bag was, in fact first produced in the 1930’s but got its nickname much later in 1956 when the actress come wife of the monarch of Monaco was pictured wearing the bag on the cover of Life magazine. The nickname stuck and the Kelly bag was born.

Of all its bags though, the Birkin has probably retained its popularity and fame the most. Originally designed by a collaboration between the then head of Hermes, John Louis Dumas and , of course, Jane Birkin, the off the shoulder bag is still sported today by the rich and famous such as Sharon Stone, Martha Stewart and most recently Lindsay Lohan. With such a diverse spectrum of admirers the bag cannot fail to continue as one of the most sold accessory items in the world today.
